IDnow Verify is available as a native mobile application that users can install on their smartphones to verify their identity. The mobile apps provide a convenient way to complete the identity verification process directly from a mobile device.

The native mobile applications offer several benefits over web-based verification:

  • NFC Document Reading: Access to NFC (Near Field Communication) technology for reading electronic passports and ID cards with NFC chips. This feature provides enhanced security and faster verification, and is exclusively available through the native mobile apps or SDK integration.
  • Optimized User Experience: Native apps are specifically designed for mobile devices, providing a smoother and more intuitive verification process.
  • Enhanced Camera Access: Better integration with device cameras for high-quality document and selfie capture.
  • Better Performance: Faster processing and smoother user experience compared to web-based solutions

Enhance Web Integration with Channel Chooser​

The native mobile applications can be used as a complement to the web-based verification by enabling the channel chooser feature in your web integration.

This provides users with flexibility in how they complete their verification:

  • Web Browser Option: Users can complete verification directly in their browser without installing any additional software - ideal for quick verifications or when app installation is not preferred.
  • Native App Option: Users can download the mobile app for access to advanced features like NFC document reading.

The channel chooser presents both options to users at the start of the verification flow, allowing them to select the method that best suits their needs and device capabilities. This hybrid approach maximizes completion rates by accommodating different user preferences while still offering the enhanced security and features of the native apps to those who choose to use them.
